Dragi Šestić (born May 14, 1966 in Mostar , Yugoslavia , today's Bosnia and Herzegovina ) is a Bosnian music producer, sound engineer, director of music video clips and owner of the record label Snail Records, founded in 2002.

Career

In 1998 he founded the first Bosnian world music band called Mostar Sevdah Reunion , with which he produced numerous albums.

In the course of his career he rediscovered almost forgotten legends of Roma music from the former Yugoslavia, such as Šaban Bajramović and Ljiljana Buttler , and brought them back to the stage of the international world music scene.

Šestić also worked with Farida Ali from Iraq , the only female maqam master , on her album Ishraqaat .

He worked with many personalities from the music scene of the former Yugoslavia such as Esma Redžepova , Boban Marković , Naat Veliov , Amira Medunjanin , Fulgerica , Ljubiša Stojanović "Louis" and many others. Today Dragi Šestić lives and works in the Netherlands .
