John S. Pistole, Transportation Security Administration Administrator (2010)

John S. Pistole (born June 1, 1956 in Baltimore , Maryland , USA ) was the FBI's Assistant Director from 2004 to 2010 . His supervisor at the time was FBI director Robert Mueller .

In October 2004, Pistole was appointed Deputy Director Federal Bureau of Investigation, the FBI's second highest office. On August 23, 2004, he was testified by Congress.

Pistole and Valerie E. Caproni were the FBI officers who approved the notice exposing the US government's "war on terror" practice. The notice was sent to all staff by the FBI General Counsel and stated that FBI officers should not use torture for interrogation purposes. FBI officers were banned from using third-party torture interrogation.

In the summer of 2010, he left the position of deputy FBI director to Timothy Murphy and moved to the Transportation Security Administration .
