John Porter (politician)

John Porter (* in Pennsylvania ) was an American politician . Between 1806 and 1811 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

The sources of this politician are very poor. His date of birth is as little known as his exact place of birth. He was born somewhere in the state of Pennsylvania and received a limited education. He later became a member of the Democratic Republican Party founded by Thomas Jefferson . Between 1801 and 1805 he was a member of the Pennsylvania Senate .

After the resignation of MP Michael Leib , Porter was elected to the US House of Representatives in Washington, DC at the by-election due for the third seat of Pennsylvania , where he took up his new mandate on December 8, 1806. After two re-elections, he could remain in Congress until March 3, 1811 . After his time in the US House of Representatives, the trail of John Porter is lost again. His death date and place of death are in the dark.
