Life
Riordan received his bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto in 1966 , where he received his PhD in biochemistry in 1970. From 1970 to 1973 he was at the Max Planck Institute for Biophysics in Frankfurt am Main . From 1974 he was a professor at the University of Toronto. He is a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has been a visiting scholar at the Salhgrenska Academy (of which he is an honorary doctor) and the University of Gothenburg.
