John Gilbert Ramsay, 15th Earl of Dalhousie (born July 25, 1904 , † May 3, 1950 ) was a Scottish nobleman and soldier.

Family and career

Ramsay was born on July 25, 1904, the eldest son of Arthur Maule-Ramsay and his wife Mary Adelaide Heathcote-Drummond. He was educated at Christ Church College of Oxford University . There he was awarded the Bachelor of Arts . Between 1925 and 1930 he was a member of the Scots Guards . With the death of his father on December 23, 1928, the title of Earl of Dalhousie passed to him. As Deputy Lieutenant he represented the Lord Lieutenant in Angus . Since Ramsay died unmarried and childless in 1950, the title of Earl of Dalhousie passed to his younger brother Simon .
