John Russell, 4th Earl Russell
John Conrad Russell, 4th Earl Russell ( November 16, 1921 - December 16, 1987 ) was a British nobleman and member of the House of Lords .
Life
John Russell was born in 1921 to the philosopher and mathematician Bertrand Russell and his second wife Dora Russell .
On August 28, 1946, he married Susan Doniphan Lindsay and adopted their daughter Felicity Anne Russell, who was from their first marriage. The marriage with Lindsay had two daughters. In 1955 the marriage ended in divorce.
In 1970 John Russell inherited his father's title and was now Earl Russell in the House of Lords until his death. Since he died in 1987 without a male heir, his title passed to his half-brother, the historian Conrad Russell .
