John Talbot, 3rd Earl of Shrewsbury

John Talbot, 3rd Earl of Shrewsbury ( December 12, 1448 - June 28, 1473 ) was an English peer .

He was the eldest son of John Talbot, 2nd Earl of Shrewsbury , and Elisabeth Butler, daughter of James Butler, 4th Earl of Ormonde .

When his father died in 1460, he inherited his title of nobility as Earl of Shrewsbury and the hereditary court office of the Lord High Steward of Ireland .

Around 1467 he married Katherine Stafford, a daughter of Humphrey Stafford, 1st Duke of Buckingham and Anne Neville . With her he had an only son and heir, George Talbot , who inherited him in 1473 at the age of only five when Talbot died in 1473.
