from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

John W. Blanchard (* 1930 ) is a British plant breeder who is an expert on the wild species of the plant genus narcissus ( Narcissus ).

He worked in Blandford , Dorset ( England ) from 1954 with Douglas Blanchard (1887–1968).

His work Narcissus: A guide to wild daffodils , published in 1990, including precise information about the native regions of the species, is considered a standard work for the wild species of daffodils ( Narcissus ). His system of wild species is not strictly botanical, but is partly based on the plant breeder's point of view.
