John Kingdon

John Wells Kingdon (* 1940 ) is an American political scientist and professor emeritus from the University of Michigan .

Life

Kingdon graduated from Oberlin College and the University of Wisconsin – Madison . After several fellowships, he was Professor of Political Science at the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor . Kingdon became famous for its multiple streams approach . This is presented in his work "Agendas, Alternatives, and Public Policies", which received the 1994 Aaron Wildavsky Award.

In 1991 Kingdon was elected to the American Academy of Arts and Sciences .
