John Wise, 2nd Baron Wise

John Clayton Wise, 2nd Baron Wise (born June 6, 1923 in Somerton , Oxfordshire , † November 2, 2012 ) was a British nobleman and politician.

Life

John Wise was the son of Major Frederick Wise, 1st Baron Wise MP of the Labor Party . He attended the King Edward VI School in Bury St Edmunds , where he was to serve as governor from 1980 to 1990. Later he worked as a farmer. He was married twice and had two sons. The firstborn son Christopher John Clayton Wise (* 1949) is the title heir.

When his father died in 1968, he inherited his title as Baron Wise and became a member of the House of Lords. While he was initially not close to any party (" Crossbencher "), he later joined the Conservative Party . After the House of Lords Act 1999 he had to give up his upper house mandate. In his 30 years in parliament he gave 151 speeches on a wide variety of topics.
