Johnny Scott
Johnny Scott (actually John Kerningham Sidney Scott , * approx. 1938 in Buffalo , † April 20, 2010 in Montreal ) was an American singer and tenor saxophonist who worked in Canada for most of his life .
Johnny Scott began performing as a musician when he was 15. While doing his military service in Europe he played in a band for troop entertainment. After his discharge from the army in the early 1960s, he moved to Montreal , where he has since worked in the fields of pop music , rhythm & blues , blues and jazz . In 1986 he created his debut album From Now On with pianist Geoffrey Lapp , which he released on his own label JazzCo . Scott has given concerts regularly in Canada and the United States, and has made several film and television appearances.
