The Johnson Glacier is a 30 km long valley glacier in the northern Alaska range in Alaska ( USA ).
The nutrient area of the Johnson Glacier at an altitude of 2000 m is located on the eastern flank of M'Ladies Mountain . The glacier initially flows east. After 11 km, a larger tributary glacier meets the Johnson Glacier from the east below the northern flank of Mount Gakona . This then turns to the northeast. The Johnson Glacier, which is 1.6 km wide in the lower section, ends at an altitude of 800 m . The tongue of the glacier feeds the Johnson River , a left tributary of the Tanana River . The Johnson Glacier is in retreat.
