Jon Almaas (born August 29, 1967 ) is a Norwegian presenter and actor . He gained fame through the comedy show Nytt på nytt , which he hosted for 17 years.

Life

Almaas grew up in Bærum and later attended the Rudulf Steiner School in Oslo . He earned a bachelor's degree in international economics in the United States in 1992 . From 1994 he was employed by the Norwegian broadcaster Norsk rikskringkasting (NRK). There he initially worked as an editorial assistant. From 1999 Almaas hosted the comedy show Nytt på nytt . He also played in the series Side om side from 2013 . In 2016 he switched to TV Norge , where he has been heading the program Praktisk info med Jon Almaas ever since . He left Nytt på nytt and has been with Side om side ever sinceno longer as the main actor, but he is still a frequent guest in the series. In March 2020 he won a season of the Norwegian reality show 71 ° Nord .
