Jonathan David "Jon" McKain (born September 21, 1982 in Brisbane ) is an Australian football player who plays from the 2011/2012 season for Adelaide United in the Australian A-League . He is also an Australian international.

Career

After McKain played soccer at the Queensland Academy of Sport Football until 1999 , he got a contract with the Brisbane Strikers, for which he completed 67 games over the next four years. In 2003, the midfielder moved to FC Național Bucharest in Romania , in 2005 he was transferred to FCU Politehnica Timișoara . In the Romanian first division McKain made a total of 112 games and scored two goals. In the summer of 2008 he moved to Wellington Phoenix , a New Zealand soccer club that plays in the Australian professional league A-League . After two years, he moved to Al-Nasr in Saudi Arabia in mid-2010 . In the summer of 2011 he moved to Adelaide United , where he is the team captain.

In the Australian national team McKain made his debut in 2004. In 2004 he represented Australia at the Olympic Games, in the Confederations Cup 2005 in Germany he also played three times. In 2004 he was able to win the OFC Nations Cup .
