Jonathan Douglas "Jon" Owen (born December 13, 1963 in Berlin , New Hampshire ) is a former American luge rider .
Owen was active in the single seater in the late 1980s. In 1988 he took part in the Winter Olympics in Calgary , Canada . He finished 23rd. He was the first to use the toboggan run for the 2002 Winter Olympics in Park City , Utah . After his active career, Owen worked as head of development and coordinator for the US Luge Association. In 2003 he was involved in the development of a racing sled for people with disabilities .
