Erica Winifred Terwillegar (born April 8, 1963 in Nelsonville , Ohio ) is a former American luge athlete .

Terwillegar attended Lake Placid High School until graduating in 1981 . There she played soccer , basketball and softball . Then she was accepted into the US luge team. In 1983 she became North American Champion, in 1986 she won the national title. At the 1983 Luge World Championships in Lake Placid , she finished fifth. In 1988 Terwillegar took part in the Winter Olympics in Calgary , Canada . There she reached eleventh rank. After the games she resigned from luge sport until she celebrated her comeback in 1990. Terwillegar saw her second Olympic Games in 1992 in Albertville . She finished the competition in ninth place.

Terwillegar worked as a part-time model and in the fashion industry.
