Jonas was a German independent band from the Grafschaft Bentheim district that existed from 1996 to 2001 and released two albums on L'age d'or .
The band consisted of Matthias Exler (vocals, guitar), Jan van Triest ( bass ), Henning Heck (guitar) and Sebastian Fremder (drums), in 1998 Heck got out and was replaced by Ole Petras. Exler and van Triest formed the band Union Youth after the separation . They produced three music videos which were broadcast by the broadcasters VIVA Zwei , VIVA and MTV. The song Grubby from her second album Sorry, I'm Sorry, Sorry is briefly alluded to in the Doris Dörrie film Der Fischer und seine Frau .
