Jonas Elmer (born February 28, 1988 in Zurich ) is a Swiss football player . Since 2020 he has been an assistant coach at his home club FC Stäfa .

Career

Jonas Elmer began his career with the Chelsea FC youth team . From 2007 to 2010 he played for FC Aarau . In the summer of 2010 he moved to FC Sion and signed a three-year contract there. For the second half of the 2011/12 season he switched to AC Bellinzona in the Challenge League on loan . Since the beginning of the Challenge League season 2014/15 in summer 2014, Elmer played at FC Biel / Bienne . For the 2015/16 season he moved to league rivals FC Rapperswil-Jona . After more than 12 years, Elmer announced his retirement as a professional in January 2020. Since then he has worked as an assistant coach for FC Stäfa in the 3rd division.
