Jonas Persson (handball player)

Jonas Persson (born March 17, 1969 ) is a Swedish handball coach and former handball player .

The left backcourt player played for the Swedish clubs LUGI HF , Stavsten IF and H 43 Lund , where he ended his career in 2005.

Jonas Persson made his debut in the Swedish national team in 1988. At the 1990 World Cup , he surprisingly beat the Soviet team in the final and became world champion. By 1991 he played 40 international matches in which he scored 69 goals.

Jonas Persson works as a youth trainer at H 43 Lund.
