Around two weeks after his 18th birthday, on September 28, 2009, he received his first professional contract with a term until September 27, 2014. But even before the professional contract was signed, Jonathan was in action for the adult team in various games.

Change to Austria on loan

At the beginning of February 2010, a loan transfer to the second team of FC Red Bull Salzburg , the Red Bull Juniors, who play in the second highest Austrian soccer league, the First League, was confirmed. His loan period there runs until the summer of 2011, with the club having a purchase option, the transfer fee of which is two million euros. The young Brazilian made his Austrian professional and league debut on March 5, 2010, when he came on as a substitute in the 78th minute for the Burkinabe attacker Issiaka Ouédraogo in the “duel of the amateurs” Red Bull Juniors Salzburg against FK Austria Wien Amateure . Immediately after being substituted on, his team managed to equalize to make it 1-1. One day after his second professional brief, on March 13, 2010, he played a full game of the U-19 team in the Toto- sponsored U-19 youth league.

In his fourth championship appearance for the Red Bull Juniors on March 26, 2010, the young Brazilian had already played the full game. To date (May 17, 2010) the Brazilian has played in six games in the first division and in three games in the U-19 youth league.
