Jonathan James "Jonny" May (born April 1, 1990 in Swindon ) is an English rugby union player . He plays as the outer three quarters for the England team and the Leicester Tigers .

childhood and education

May played for England's U20 national team and was part of Gloucester's academy.

Career

society

May first played in the 2011 English Premiership for the Gloucester RFC . In his second season, he scored ten attempts in eleven games. In the 2014/15 season he won the European Rugby Challenge Cup with Gloucester . In 2017 they moved into the final again, but lost to Stade Français . He then moved to the Leicester Tigers.

National team

May made his national team debut against Argentina in June 2013 . His first attempt was against New Zealand in November 2014 . In 2015 he was nominated for the World Cup , where he was used in three preliminary round matches and scored one attempt. In 2017 he won the Six Nations with England . In 2019 England finished second, May scored six attempts and was the top scorer of the tournament. In the same year he was nominated for his second World Cup .
