The W. & L. Jordan GmbH is a German company from Kassel , which is the nation's leading flooring wholesaler. All products of the traditional Kassel-based company founded in 1919 are sold under the Joka brand or, in Austria, under the Inku brand. The product range of the company group, which is active throughout Europe, includes, among other things, floorboards, parquet, laminate, carpets, elastic coverings (PVC, linoleum, CV etc.), wallpaper and wood products.

history

In 1919, W. & L. Jordan GmbH was founded as a local timber trading company by Ludwig Jordan. The family company is now run by the third generation under Jörg Ludwig Jordan and supplies 20,000 customers. Jordan had a total of 58 locations in 2014, including 50 in Germany, seven in Austria and one in France .

According to a report in the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (FAZ) on December 15, 2015, the company has been growing against the trend in the industry for years. If the total market in 1995 still comprised> 400 million m² of flooring , by 2015 this had been reduced to 320 million m². Jordan continuously increased sales from 28 million euros in 1990 to around 340 million euros in 2015. On January 1, 2020, visuals united AG from Kaarst, manufacturer of individually printed vinyl floors under the FOTOBODEN brand, was 100% owned by W . & L. Jordan GmbH taken over. In the “Entrepreneur Talk” of the FAZ on January 11, 2016, the company's managing director, Jörg L. Jordan, attributed the success to a strategic decision made by the family in the 1980s: which takes away the business with the contract furnishing or the private customers. ”Jordan has been advertising for a few years in cooperation with the German Ski Association (DSV) , biathlon department .

The company's headquarters are in Kassel - Niederzwehren . The station area including the station building of the former Kassel-Niederzwehren station are now part of the company premises.

The W. & L. Jordan Foundation was founded on April 1, 1994 to promote training in the craft and also support people in need in the craft and their families.
