Jordan Prince (born November 14, 1990 in Tupelo , Mississippi ) is an American singer-songwriter .

life and career

Jordan Prince grew up in the US state of Louisiana, where he was part of several blues, jazz and folk groups from his youth. According to his own statement, his father was responsible for his love for music, who brought him into contact with bands such as Led Zeppelin , Simon & Garfunkel and Crosby, Stills and Nash at an early age . It was the American singer-songwriter Drew Danburry who got him to compose his own folk songs on the acoustic guitar.

His first album The Deer Jump was released in 2013 , followed by the EP The Parade (2015) . The recordings were made in Germany in close collaboration with the musician and producer Tim Hecking. Back in New Orleans, Prince finished his work on the album Jordan Prince Band (2016), on which he was able to work together for the first time in his desired formation.

In 2015 Prince emigrated to Munich . He processed the emotions caused by the change of location in the 2017 EP No Manual . The concept album 12 Songs for 12 Friends followed in 2018 , in which he dedicates a song to twelve formative people from his life.
