Jorge Gaspar
Jorge Manuel Barbosa Gaspar (born May 14, 1942 in Lisbon ) is a Portuguese geographer .
Gaspar received his doctorate in 1972 from the University of Lisbon where he later became a professor. He became a corresponding member of the Academia das Ciências de Lisboa in 1989 and in 1993 he became a member of the Academia Europaea . He received an honorary doctorate from the University of León in 1995 and from the University of Geneva in 2001 .
