Jorge Lauret (* 1969 ) is an Argentine mathematician who is a professor at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba .

Jorge Lauret, Oberwolfach 2014

Lauret studied mathematics at the Universidad Nacional de Córdoba with a licentiate degree in 1994 and a doctorate with Isabel Dotti in 1998. He was a post-doctoral student at Yale University from 2001 to 2003 . He was then a fellow of the Argentine national research organization Conicet and professor at the University of Cordoba.

He deals with Riemannian and pseudo-Riemannian manifolds, and especially homogeneous Einstein manifolds with symmetries, which allows an algebraization of the problem of the classification of the admissible symmetry groups of isometries of the manifold. In particular, he investigated Einstein manifolds with simply connected solvable Lie groups as a symmetry group of the isometries (Solvmanifolds), which are assumed to include all homogeneous non-compact Einstein manifolds (conjecture by Alekseevski). In 2011 he proved in the Annals of Mathematics that the Einstein-Solv manifolds satisfy a simple algebraic condition ( standard property in the sense of J. Heber).

In 2007 he received the ICTP Ramanujan Prize . In 2001 he was a Guggenheim Fellow.

He is editor of the Revista de la Unión Matemática Argentina.
