Jorma Hynninen
Jorma Kalervo Hynninen (born April 3, 1941 in Leppävirta ) is a Finnish opera singer (baritone).
Life
Hynninen sings baritone and made his debut in 1969 as Tonio in Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo at the Finnish National Opera . An international career followed. He was artistic director of the Finnish National Opera and later assumed the post of general director of the Savonlinna Opera Festival .
His repertoire includes roles in pieces by Mozart, Verdi and Wagner as well as contemporary composers. He sang leading roles in Finnish operas by Aulis Sallinen and Einojuhani Rautavaara .
