José Ángel Gómez Marchante
José Ángel Gómez Marchante (born May 30, 1980 in Alcobendas , Madrid region ) is a former Spanish cyclist .
Career
José Ángel Gómez Marchante began his professional career in 2004 with the small Spanish team Costa de Almería-Paternina . He celebrated his first victory on the second stage of the GP CTT Correios de Portugal . In 2005 he switched to the ProTeam . Saunier Duval . At Paris-Nice in 2005 he was ninth in the overall ranking and third in the youth ranking. He had to give up the Tour de France prematurely. He achieved his greatest success in 2006 with the Tour of the Basque Country . After he won the final time trial, he climbed from eighth to first place in the overall standings.
In 2011, Gómez ended his racing career.
