José Antônio Coelho Netto

José Antônio Coelho Netto (born August 19, 1881 , † 1961 ) was a Brazilian officer, most recently in the rank of major general .

Life

Coelho Netto completed an officer training in the army (Exército Brasileiro) of the armed forces (Forças Armadas do Brasil) and subsequently found various jobs as an officer and staff officer. From 1935 to 1937 he was head of the Army Aviation Department in the War Ministry and from 1936 to 1937 a member of the National Commission for the Suppression of Communism. Most recently, as major general from 1941 to 1945, he was head of the geographic service of the army.
