Gustavo Cordeiro de Faria

Gustavo Cordeiro de Faria (born June 20, 1893 , † 1948 ) was a Brazilian officer, most recently in the rank of major general .

Life

Cordeiro de Faria completed an officer training in the army ( Exército Brasileiro ) of the armed forces (Forças Armadas do Brasil) and subsequently found various posts as an officer and staff officer. On December 29, 1932, he was promoted to lieutenant colonel, this promotion being backdated to November 7, 1932. He was promoted to colonel on May 3, 1937 , and to brigadier general on August 29, 1941 , before being promoted to major general on May 9, 1947 . As such he was from 1947 until his death in 1948 commander of the 3rd military region (3rd Região Militar) .
