José Antonio Castro González (born August 11, 1980 in Mexico City ) is a Mexican football player .

After major injury losses in the regular team, Castro came to the Mexican Club America on February 25, 2001 to his debut in the Primera División de México . In the following year he was already in action and in the third year he was part of the main squad of the capital club on the position of right-back. He made over 150 appearances for his club in the first six years and he had his greatest success in 2005 when he won the championship title in the Clausura and then won the North American club championship, the CONCACAF Champions Cup .

In 2003 he was discovered by the new national coach Ricardo La Volpe and accepted into the national team , but his time had not yet come. After five games there was a longer break and it was not until the end of 2005, in preparation for the 2006 World Cup in Germany, that he was used again. As a substitute for the defense, he was in Mexico's World Cup squad .
