José Francisco Milla Guevara

José Francisco Milla Guevara (* August 1789 in Gracias ; †) was from March 22, 1832 to January 7, 1833 Supremo Director of the Province of Honduras in the Central American Confederation .

Life

His parents were Tomasa Guevara and Juan Manuel de la Milla. He was the cousin of José Justo Milla Pineda . In 1805 he was enrolled in the Colegio Seminario de Guatemala.

José Francisco Milla Guevara was a member of the Fiebres , as the Partido Liberal called itself at the time.

Term of office

Due to health problems of the previous Supremo Director Colonel José María Antonio de la Cruz Márquez, the deputy José Francisco Milla Guevara was transferred to the office of Supremo Director on March 22, 1832.

The Moderados , as the Partido Conservador called themselves at that time, operated the dissolution of the Central American Confederation , since its government was dominated by the Fiebres. In El Salvador there was a moderado with José María Cornejo Merino y Guevara , who also supported the separation efforts in Honduras. Colonel D. Vicente Dominguez and Colonel Ramón Guzmán commanded the Moderados troops . Dominguez attacked Trujillo and was defeated by the troops of Francisco Ferrera , the commander of Yoro in Sonaguera in La Ofrecedora and Trujillo. Colonel Ramón Guzmán had the fortress of Omoa attacked. Dominguez and Guzmán were captured, convicted, and executed in Omoa and Comayagua on September 13 and 14, 1832, respectively. A court martial was held against the moderados .
