Rumjana Zacharieva
Rumjana Zacharieva (born September 30, 1950 in Balchik / Bulgaria ) is a Bulgarian - German writer .
Life
Rumjana Zacharieva was born in Bulgaria . After she had passed the final examination at an English-speaking grammar school in Russe in 1970, she moved to the Federal Republic of Germany in the same year . She learned German during a one-year visit to the preparatory college at the University of Bonn . She studied English and Slavic Studies in Bonn and graduated in 1977 with a master's degree . She has been publishing literary texts in German since the mid- 1970s . Today the author lives in Sankt Augustin .
Rumjana Zacharieva is the author of novels , short stories , poems , radio plays and radio features ; next translated it from the Bulgarian .
Rumjana Zacharieva is a member of the PEN Center Germany , the Association of German Writers and the literary association “ Die Kogge ”. She received u. a. 1979 the advancement award for literature of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia , 1991 the Kogge advancement award and 1999 the literature award of the Bonn Reading and Recreation Society . This was followed by grants from the Kunststiftung NRW (2004) and the Minister of Culture of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia (2008) for the women's and migrant novel Transitvisum fürs Leben , published in March 2012. In 2013, the writer received a work grant from the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia.
