The publisher Irene Kuron was a German small publishing house for literature that existed from the late 1980s until the early 2000s. The publishing house was in Bonn .

history

The Irene Kuron publishing house was founded in Bonn around 1986 by the German economist Irene Kuron (* 1961). The publishing program of the book publisher mainly included non-fiction , especially scientific literature in the field of materials and corrosion research as well as in the field of applied geography . In addition, the publisher published some works of fiction , some of which showed “points of contact” with the academic publisher's program, such as the poetry collections of “ Seismic Poetry ” by Thomas Frahm . In addition, the journal Geographil was published by the publisher from 1987 to 1988 . Journal at the Geographical Institute of the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität in Bonn .

In the early 1990s, Irene Kuron published several publications from the then Federal Ministry for Research and Technology (BMFT, now BMBF) and the DECHEMA Society for Chemical Technology and Biotechnology . Between 1990 and 2001 the publisher published numerous publications of the German Association for Applied Geography (DVAG) in the DVAG series of material on applied geography , such as annual conference and specialist conference volumes as well as research reports.

In the field of scientific non-fiction, the publishers' authors included Bruno Benthien , Rolf Beyer , Ilse Brusis , Juan-Javier Carmona-Schneider , Rainer Danielzyk , Arnulf Marquardt-Kuron (Irene Kuron's husband), Peter Moll , Burghard Rauschelbach , Götz von Rohr , Konrad Schliephake and Katrin Schneiders . In the “Science and Culture” or “Fiction” publishing division, the publishers' authors included Italo Calvino , Michael Ende , Thomas Frahm , Antoine de Saint-Exupéry , Martin Walser and Rumjana Zacharieva .

The publishing house was always at the place of foundation, in Bonn. The publishing house was dissolved around 2001.
