José Loreto Arismendi

José Loreto Arismendi (born April 10, 1898 in Caracas ; † December 20, 1979 there ) was a Venezuelan lawyer and politician.

Career

Arismendi received his school education from 1904 to 1907 at the Colegio Católico Alemán, from 1907 to 1912 at the Colegio Francés and from 1912 to 1914 at the Liceo Caracas. He then studied from 1914 to 1919 at the Universidad Central de Venezuela and from 1919 to 1921 at the law faculty of the University of Paris .

From 1924 to 1936 he was advisor to the government of the Federal District on legal issues and then worked as a lawyer. In July 1953 he was appointed Minister of Education of the Republic of Venezuela. In February 1956, General Marcos Pérez Jiménez made him his foreign minister. He stayed in office until 1958.
