José Luis Lamadrid (born July 3, 1930 ) is a retired Mexican football player on the position of striker .

biography

Lamadrid began his professional career in 1949 in the service of Real Club España . When the club withdrew from the professional league at the end of the 1949/50 season, he moved to Club América for the 1950/51 season and was then under contract for three seasons with Club Necaxa . He then played for one season each at Deportivo Toluca (1954/55) and again at America (with whom he was allowed to celebrate the Cup victory in 1955 immediately after his move), before ending his active career at CD Cuautla .

National team

His debut in the ranks of the Mexican national team Lamadrid celebrated on April 6, 1952 in a game for the Pan American Championships against Brazil, which was lost 2-0. He scored his first two international goals in a World Cup qualifier against Haiti on December 27, 1953 , which was won 4-0. He scored two more goals for "El Tri" in the qualifying games against the USA, which were played in January 1954 and won 4-0 and 3-1 respectively.

The highlight of his international career was his participation in the soccer world championship in 1954 , in which he played both games and scored the connecting goal to 1: 2 against France in the 54th minute. The World Cup game against "Les Bleus" held on June 19, 1954 was also his last international match.
