José Manuel González-Páramo

José Manuel González-Páramo (born August 9, 1958 in Madrid ) is a Spanish economist and was a member of the Board of Directors of the European Central Bank from June 1, 2004 to May 31, 2012 .

He studied economics at the Universidad Complutense in Madrid and Columbia University in New York . From 1980 to 1994 he held various academic positions at the Universidad Complutense and then moved to high-level positions, first in the Spanish Ministry of Finance and later in the Banco de España , the Spanish central bank.

Since 2012 he has been teaching as a professor at the IESE Business School in Barcelona.
