José Maria Botelho de Vasconcelos

José Maria Botelho de Vasconcelos (born March 24, 1950 in Malanje ) is an Angolan politician. He is currently the Minister for Petroleum in his country.

Vasconcelos was Minister for Petroleum from 1999 to 2002. After that he was Minister for Energy and Water . After the parliamentary elections in September 2008, he was reappointed oil minister in the newly elected Angolan government . In February 2010, after a cabinet reshuffle, Vasconcelos was confirmed in his post.

For 2008 and 2009 he was expelled as President of OPEC .
