José Rolón
José Rolón Alcaraz (born June 22, 1876 in Zapotlán , Jalisco , † February 3, 1945 in Mexico City ) was a Mexican composer .
Rolón was a piano student of Moritz Moszkowski in Paris from 1903 to 1907 . After returning to Mexico, he founded a music school and the symphony orchestra in Guadalajara . From 1927 to 1929 he studied composition with Nadia Boulanger and Paul Dukas . In 1930 he became a teacher of harmony , counterpoint and composition at the Conservatorio Nacional de Música .
In addition to a symphony , two symphonic poems , two overtures and a piano concerto , he mainly composed works for piano and songs .
