from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

José Santos Díaz del Valle (* 1793 in Choluteca , Choluteca Department , Honduras ; † July 1840 in Chalatenango , El Salvador) was Supremo Director of the Province of Honduras in the Central American Confederation from July 28, 1830 to March 12, 1831 .

Life

José Santos Díaz married Lucía Lastiri, the sister of María Josefa Lastiri, the wife of José Francisco Morazán Quezada , for the second time . He married Petronila Salvadora Freire de Andrade one more time.

He was elected by the Cabildos de Españoles of Honduras because the previous Supremo Director of Honduras José Francisco Morazán Quezada had been elected Supremo Director of the Central American Confederation.

He canceled the decree of the constituent assembly , Asamblea Constituyente de Cedros of August 29, 1824, that the seat of the legislature was alternately in Tegucigalpa and Ciudad de Comayagua , and designated Comayagua as the seat of government and parliament.

He called for general elections for Supremo Director . In these elections, Joaquin Rivera was elected, who did not accept the election, which is why Parliament elected Colonel José Antonio Marquez as Supremo Director .
