José Sentis

José Sentis (born June 11, 1888 in Tarragona , Spain , † March 20, 1983 in Ivry-sur-Seine , France ) was a Spanish pianist and composer.

José Sentis began his career as a pianist in the salons of Paris. Under the influence of Argentinian friends such as the musician Buchardo Alberto Lopez and the writer Ricardo Güiraldes , he mainly played tango pieces. Buchardo Alberto Lopez composed the Tango Germain , among other things . Both were among the musicians who made tango popular in Paris at the time. Pieces composed by José Sentis include Baby , Mr. Marquis , Spring , From 5 to 7 , Volver and Bad Love . José Sentis also played on major tours (Venezuela, Cuba, North America) and was director of an orchestra in the 1920s and 1930s. He also wrote music for film and television, such as for the tango film Melodía de arrabal .
