Jos Delbeke (* 1954 in Avelgem ) is a Belgian economist, EU civil servant and, since 2010, Director General for Climate Policy in the administration of the European Union .

Life

Jos Delbeke received his doctorate in economics from the Catholic University of Leuven in 1986 . He then joined the EU administrative service. In various positions he was particularly concerned with the topics of environmental protection, climate protection, sustainability and air pollution control. In 2008 he took over the post of Deputy Secretary General of the Directorate-General for the Environment and was appointed Director-General of the Directorate-General for Climate Change in 2010.
