Josef Abs (Indologist)

Josef Maria Abs (born January 20, 1889 in Oespel , † after 1935 ) was a German Indologist , colonial scientist and missionary chaplain.

Life

He was the son of Friedrich Abs and his wife Maria nee Keßler.

In 1914 Abs was to become a professor in Calcutta . Because of the First World War, this did not happen. He worked as a mission chaplain and published numerous works on India. His last place of residence was Bonn .
