Josef Ahr

Josef Ahr (born February 14, 1867 in Kempten , † March 29, 1931 in Munich ) was a German agricultural chemist.

Life

Josef Ahr studied in Weihenstephan . In 1884 he became a member of the Corps Agronomia Freising . After completing his studies, he was an agricultural teacher at the district arable farming school in Triesdorf from 1894 to 1900 and rector of the agricultural school in Pfarrkirchen from 1900 to 1910. In 1910 he was appointed professor of agricultural chemistry at the Academy for Agriculture and Brewery in Weihenstephan. From 1912 to 1914 he was head of the agricultural department. In September 1919 he moved to the State Ministry for Agriculture in Munich as Ministerialrat. In 1922 he became head of department there. In 1926 he received the title and rank of Ministerial Director and in 1928 the final appointment as Ministerial Director. Since July 1928 Ministerial Director in the State Ministry for Agriculture and Labor, he died in 1931.

In his scientific work, Ahr dealt in particular with issues from the field of fertilization.
