The Yŏnggwang Hot'el (영광 호텔) is a hotel under construction in Pyongyang ( North Korea ) since the end of 2011 . It should stand out from the other hotels in the city primarily through its luxury (e.g. a casino ). The height should be between 45 and 75 floors . The investor is a Chinese company that is investing around 20 million US dollars in total with other projects . The Yŏnggwang Hot'el will be North Korea's first five-star hotel . Between the spring and summer of 2013, construction work was suspended indefinitely, and it is reported that the investor has lost faith in the project.

The location of the hotel is in the central district of Chung-guyok (Dong Tonghung-dong ). Are still the near Hauptbahnhof Pyongyang and Yŏnggwang Station of Pyongyang Metro . The Koryŏ Hot'el , which opened in 1995 , is in the immediate vicinity .
