Josef Bönisch (born August 9, 1935 in Saubernitz ) is a German composer and arranger .

Josef Bönisch completed his studies at the Weimar Conservatory and the Leipzig University of Music . He was active as a flautist in several state orchestras and also led various music groups.

From 1976, was Bönisch teacher for transverse and recorder and chamber music at the Conservatory of Handel Stadthalle. Numerous works for wind chamber music were created, and Bönisch also wrote a large number of compositions for wind orchestra. Various compositions have been published and also produced for radio.

Several compositions were nominated as compulsory pieces for competitions, for example: Baroque impressions, festival music, cheerful prelude, Indian stories, festival pictures.

For his artistic activity he received, among other things, the Pestalozzi Medal in silver, the badge of honor for services in the artistic work of the people . Furthermore the Sudeten German Culture Prize 1999 , the composition prize "Blasmusik 2000" of the music association of Upper and Lower Bavaria and in 2006 the composition prize for beginners literature.
