Zubrnice (German Saubernitz ) is a municipality in the Czech Republic . It is located in the Central Bohemian Mountains 12 km northwest of Úštěk on the road to Malé Březno . The village in the valley of the Luční potok ( Kreuzbach ) and its tributary Zubrnický potok ( Zinkenbach ) is in 290 m. ü. To the north rises the 683 m high Buková hora (Zinkenstein) with the distinctive television tower .
Since 1995 the place has been a village monument reserve (Vesnická památková rezervace).
history
The village was first mentioned in a document in 1352. The inhabitants of the market town lived mainly from agriculture. The cultivation of fruit and hops was important. The water power of the Kreuzbach was used for mills.
In 1890 the place received a railway connection to the Großpriesen-Wernstadt-Auscha local railway . The line was closed in 1978. The Velké Březno -Zubrnice section was declared a museum railway in 1988. The start of a regular train service did not take place. In 1993 an association was established with the aim of operating the route as a museum railway. For the time being, a railway museum was built in Zubrnice in the station area.
Community structure
The municipality of Zubrnice consists of the districts Týniště ( Tünscht ) and Zubrnice ( Saubernitz ), which also form cadastral districts. The Stará Homole ( Althummel ) desert also belongs to Zubrnice .

- Folk Architecture Museum
- Baroque fountain from 1695, moved here from Střížovice in 1968
- two atonement crosses from Chabařovice and Hrbovice near Chlumec , a crucifix from Krásné Březno and a torture pillar from Luční Chvojno , which were moved and rescued here
- Trinity chapel from Žichlice ( Schichlitz ) near Modlany from 1719, moved here in 1990
- Baroque church, built around 1350 and rebuilt between 1723 and 1730
- Mill in Týniště
- numerous North Bohemian log houses in half-timbered construction
- Railway museum in the former Saubernitz-Tünscht station
