history

The first written mention of the village took place in 1169, when the Order of St. John was given the left Elbe area around the mountain Chwoynov for settlement. At that time there was probably already a Slavic settlement, on whose corridors the order founded a village under German law. The first written mention of Povrly comes from the year 1186. At that time Rongstock was mining for silver. In the 14th century Povrly was attached to the Mosern estate. In 1393 the Lords of Lungwitz bought Mosern with Pömmerle. After the construction of the Blankenstein Castle at the beginning of the 15th century , Pömerle was added to the rule of the castle. In the berní rula of 1654, 26 farms are identified for Pömerle. In 1673 the village had grown to 35 houses. There is evidence of a customs office in Pömerlei in 1736. Between September 12, 1797 and August 31, 1798, ten fires broke out in Pömerlei. Pömerle was parish in Rongstock. Until the middle of the 19th century, the village always belonged to the Blankenstein dominion.

After the abolition of patrimonial Pömmerle / Povrly formed a political municipality in the judicial district or district Außenig . With the construction of the Imperial and Royal Northern State Railway , inaugurated in 1851, industry settled down. The most important company was the copper smelter, founded in 1899. In 1901 the new school was consecrated. In 1921 the village consisted of 185 houses and had 1,196 inhabitants, most of whom were Germans. In 1930 there were 1,319 people living in the community. After the Munich Agreement , Pömerle was added to the German Reich in 1938 and belonged to the Aussig district until 1945 . In 1939 the community had 1,195 inhabitants. In 1945 Povrly returned to Czechoslovakia and the German residents were expelled . In 1948 the community was assigned to the Okres Ústí nad Labem-okolí. Since 1961 Povrly has belonged again to the Okres Ústí nad Labem , at the same time Český Bukov, Neštědice, Roztoky and Mírkov were added. In 1976 Slavošov was incorporated. The most important company in the municipality today is Měď Povrly as, which produces copper strips and building sheets.
