Pichitphong Choeichiu ( Thai : พิชิต พง ษ์ เฉย ฉิว , born August 28, 1982 in Yasothon ) is a Thai football player on the position of midfielder . He plays for Muang Thong United in the Thai Premier League .
Career
Pichitphong began his career in the youth team of FC Krung Thai Bank , for whom he played from 2003 for the first team in the Thai Premier League. He won his first and so far only championship with the team at the end of the season. At the end of the 2003/04 season he was voted Player of the Year. He played for the club for a total of five years and played 116 games during that period. In 2007 he won the runner-up with the team and took part in the AFC Champions League the following year . He was used in all six group games and scored a total of two goals, both in the games against ĐPM Nam Định from Vietnam . After the club Krung Thai Bank was taken over by Bangkok Glass at the end of the 2008 season, Pichitphong also left the club. He has been under contract with the Premier League promoted Muang Thong United since 2009 .
For the national team, he first played for the U-23 . He took part in three Southeast Asian Games from 2001 to 2005 . He was able to win the gold medal with the team. Pichitphong has been in the senior squad since 2004. The first major tournament in which he was allowed to participate was the 2004 Asian Football Championships . In 2007 and 2008, he was nominated for the 2007 and 2008 ASEAN Football Championships . In both tournaments he reached the final with the team, which was lost both times. In the second leg of the 2007 finals, he was in the starting line-up.
