The Kozí vrch (German goat mountain) is a striking rock mountain in the left Elbe Bohemian Central Uplands .
Location and surroundings
The Kozí vrch is located in the Elbe valley about 8 km east of Ústí nad Labem in the "Verneřické středohoří" part of the Bohemian Uplands. Directly at the foot of the mountain are the village of Neštědice ( Nestersitz ) belonging to the municipality Povrly ( Pömmerle ) and the small village Vesely ( Wesseln ) belonging to Ústí nad Labem . The municipality of Velké Březno ( Großpriesen ) is located directly opposite on the other bank of the Elbe .
Mountain sports
In the past, the rock flanks of the mountain also served as mountain sports grounds. The first route on the north side was set up by German climbers as early as 1910. Another development took place recently by Czech climbers. Today the mountain is closed to climbing all year round for nature conservation reasons.
view
From the summit of Kozí vrch, especially in a westerly direction, an extensive panorama opens up into the deeply cut valley of the Elbe, in the direction of Ústí nad Labem and across the North Bohemian Basin to the southern slope of the Ore Mountains with Komáří vížka ( mosquito turrets ), Bouřňák ( striker ) and Loučná ( weasel stone ). When the visibility is good, the view extends to Klínovec ( Keilberg ) and Fichtelberg .
hike
Over the shoulder of Kozí vrch performs a green marked trail that coming from Neštědice to Castle Blansko (Blankenstein) and then Neštěmice (Nestomitz) runs. A short branch leads to the mountain top.
