The castle Blansko (German Blankenstein , even Plankenstein ) located at Mírkov on the top of a hill in the left bank Czech Central Mountains in the Czech Republic . Only larger parts of the mighty outer walls of the medieval hilltop castle are preserved today. The once still partially preserved palace was largely destroyed during the construction of a viewing platform in the 30s.
history
Blansko was first mentioned in a document in 1401 as the administrative seat of the Wartenbergers from Tetschen . In 1527 the castle was bought into the possession of the Saxon noble family von Bünau . From the middle of the 16th century the castle was no longer inhabited, but the Bünaus built a new castle near Schönpriesen . As a military base, however, Blansko continues to be expanded, additional fortifications with two semicircular bastions and a small tower in front of the castle gate still bear witness to this today. At the end of the 16th century, another renaissance- style bastion was added and the entrance gate was expanded.
In 1628 the castle was sold to the Lords of Thun . However, the facility was no longer used by them. In the turmoil of the Thirty Years' War , the castle became desolate and then gradually fell into disrepair.
At the end of the 19th century, the Aussiger Mountain Association had a lookout tower built in the remains of the palace. In the 1930s, this was again extensively repaired, and the hall was completely destroyed.
